What was the most memorable part of the day?
Locking eyes as the church doors opened was the most surreal, special moment. Everything we had planned for the last year and a half came down to that moment right there. It’s such a nerve-wracking yet incredible feeling.
How did you choose your wedding photographer?
Dean and I have always admired Brandon and Jess’s work. Something about their moody, dark aesthetic really drew us in. We loved how everything felt natural and candid, nothing felt staged or posed. This is evident in their work. We were able to have fun with it and really enjoy our day without worrying about hitting all the right angles! They were truly a pleasure to work with!
Covid has undoubtedly impacted everyone’s wedding plans this year, do you have any advice for newly engaged couples planning a wedding during this pandemic?
Our biggest piece of advice for couples planning a wedding during this unpredictable time is to be open-minded! If you choose to move forward with your wedding like we did, then you need to be flexible. Things may not go as planned. Numbers will be smaller, venues and vendors may change, and many rules will be put in place. Our wedding was drastically different than the one we had originally planned and to be honest, we loved it even more. Our intimate wedding in my in-laws’ backyard really made us realize what matters most in life. However, postponing your nuptials in order to get the wedding you had originally planned is completely understandable as well. Ultimately, you need to decide what works best for you and your partner. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you’re marrying your best friend. We’re so fortunate that we were able to say “I do” in the midst of a pandemic. And what a story this will be for our children one day!
